The Clarion Fire department is operated by volunteer firemen under the direction of Chief Dave Hill and is a department of the City of Clarion. The by-laws state there may be 25 volunteers on the department, the actual number of firemen vary around 20. The department is funded by the City of Clarion and fundraising efforts by the firefighters. The City of Clarion and eight townships (represented by the Clarion Rural Fire Board, a 28E Agency) are served by the Clarion Volunteer Fire Department.
The Clarion Volunteer Fire Department and the Clarion Rural Fire Board jointly own 3 trucks and a response vehicle.
