Ennis Trucking has been in business in Clarion since 1968 when Pat Ennis started the company with two trucks. The company has grown to include 40 employees and 19 company-owned trucks and 10 owner-operator rigs. The trucking company carries frozen food items, livestock, and seed for companies such as Con Agra and Monsanto. They transport eggs from the Wright County egg production facilities to other parts of the United States.

Goldfield Access Network (GAN) was established in 1996 in response to the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996 which made competition possible in local telephone markets. GAN is jointly owned by two local companies, Goldfield Telephone Company and Advanced Telephone Holdings. Goldfield Telephone Company has provided local telephone service in the Goldfield community since 1903. GAN provides local telephone service in Eagle Grove, Clarion and Humboldt. Other products and services: internet access, DSL, long distance service, telephone equipment sales and repair.

Hagie Manufacturing is a "Clarion home-grown business" beginning as a hybrid seed corn company in the late 1940s. The company is an industry leader in the manufacture of high clearance, self-propelled sprayers and detasslers which are sold to customers around the world. The business currently employs 114 people.

Krysilis (formerly North Central Human Services) is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing residential, vocational, and community based supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NCHS has operated 3 residential homes in the Clarion area since 1994 and also supports a number of individuals in their own homes and in their family's homes, offering life-skills training and respite services. Krysilis employs many of their clients in different job fields, from mowing lawns, to working in one of their two retail store locations in Clarion; Thrift and Gift, and The Annex, both located on South Main Street. Krysilis currently has over 90 employees.

The photography studio (formerly Mueller Studio) is well-known for all their photo services. The company is the largest photo company in the world, taking 30 million students worldwide and grossing more than $1 billion annually. From the Clarion location, their crews take pictures of students who attend more than 400 north central Iowa public and parochial school buildings each fall. They employ 45 people, many part-time during the fall school photo session.

The soybean seeds are bagged in 50# bags, sold in mini-bulk bags, and/or delivered to end-use producers by semi trucks.

North Central Cooperative

A farmer-owned cooperative, North Central Co-op is located in five (including Holmes, Kanawha, Woden, Hutchins) communities with its general offices based in Clarion. There are 67 employees business-wide with 33 employed at the Clarion facility. The company has more than 1500 member-owners. The company provides a vast array of retail and services for their member owners: crop storage, drying, and delivery; seed sales; crop input sales and services; and on-farm trucking of crops for delivery to the co-op.

Wright County Egg is a large producer of high quality eggs for distribution across the United States. The business employs 300 people in the production and packaging of eggs. The business currently has four laying hen sites with 54 buildings with 100,000 laying hens in each building. The fifth laying hen facility is currently under construction and houses are being brought into production as each one is completed. The business uses state of the art handling of animals, pest control, and manure management practices.

The hospital and clinic has a history of more than 50 years of quality health care in the Clarion community and surrounding area. The medical facility has as their goal to be the best rural hospital in America, using the Press-Gany survey company the business continues to rank in the top 1% of care in the nation. Currently undergoing expansions and renovations to the emergency room areas; outpatient service area; and the building of an assisted living facility. One hundred fifty people are employed by WMC.

Clarion-Goldfield Schools, City of Clarion, and Wright County, government agencies which are tax supported, all are large employers in the Clarion area as well.
