Life in Clarion

Clarion, a small rural community with big city benefits, has been tabbed as a "groundbreaking" community. Home to nearly 3,000 residents, Clarion is always on the move. During the past ten years, millions of dollars have been invested from tax dollars and fund drives to enhance the Clarion-Goldfield Schools, Wright Medical Center, the development commission's industrial park, the Heartland Museum, new playground equipment at the elementary school, and a newly constructed skate park. When residents are asked to improve Clarion, they step up to the plate and help with their open hands, hearts, and pocketbooks.

Clarion has a good mix of retail and service businesses; churches and special interest groups. Employment opportunities range from manufacturing businesses closely related to agriculture and those outside of the ag sector. State of the art medical services are available in the Clarion area. Educational opportunities are also some of the best in the state of Iowa. Recreational and entertainment opportunities abound in our community and area.

Clarion is pleased to use the teamwork approach to get the most done possible. There is a good working atmosphere among the leaders of the community: medical, city officials, school personnel, chamber and development commission volunteers.
